AI Academy Open House

A first look at everything the AI Academy offers

Curious about AI, a little wary of it, or already using it and ready to go further? This open house is a free event for learners at all levels. We'll introduce the AI Academy, preview our current and upcoming classes, and help you pick the right starting point for your experience and goals. Our hope is that you catch a glimpse of what's possible with AI and leave with a clear sense of how you can grow in your confidence and productivity with it. Refreshments and light snacks provided.

Introduction to AI

Getting started and building confidence with artificial intelligence

There is a lot of noise and confusion around artificial intelligence, and for many people, a fair amount of anxiety too. This class cuts through both. It begins by addressing the most common myths about AI, then builds a clear and practical understanding of how it works. From there, participants explore today's most widely-used generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude) with guided, low-pressure practice before choosing a real scenario from their own work or life to try. Participants leave with less anxiety, more curiosity, and the confidence to keep exploring.

Claude Cowork Fundamentals

Working alongside autonomous AI agents to get more done

AI is moving beyond chatbots into autonomous agents that can research, communicate, and carry out tasks on their own. This class introduces Claude Cowork and how to use AI agents responsibly and effectively at work and at home. Participants will learn what sets agents apart from traditional AI tools, where they create real value, and how to keep the right human oversight in place. You will leave with more confidence and a clear framework for evaluating where AI agents fit into your own work and organization.

Claude for Professionals

The nuts and bolts of the Claude platform for professional work

Claude was built for thinking and doing – and most professionals who use it are only scratching the surface. This class is a hands-on tour of the full Claude platform. Participants learn the features that turn Claude from a chat window into a working environment: Projects with custom instructions and knowledge, artifacts, styles, memory, tasks, and connecting Claude directly to tools like Gmail, Drive, and Calendar. The class ends with each participant building a Project around a real workflow from their own work – something they will open again tomorrow.

AI for Small Business Owners

Getting time back with practical tools and workflows

Running a small business means wearing every hat. This class is for owners who are ready to let AI wear a few of them. It moves quickly from the basics of effective prompting to hands-on practice with the tools most useful for small business operations: customer communication, content creation, and workflow automation. Participants leave with a real workflow mapped to their own business, a short list of tools worth adopting, and a clear sense of where AI can give time back.

AI for Busy Families

Saving time and reducing mental load with practical tools

Running a household is a full-time job: school schedules, meals, appointments, travel, and more. This class shows busy parents how to put AI to work as a practical assistant, trading that mental load for more time and presence with the people who matter most. Through live demonstrations and real-life examples, parents will learn to safely prompt and personalize Generative AI (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc.) to organize information, generate ideas, and reduce decision fatigue.

Collaborating with Agents - Part 1

Getting Started with AI Agents

This first session begins with a background on generative AI and an introduction to AI agents. From there, participants use a secure sandbox to create their own autonomous agent and practice reverse prompting: guiding the agent to clarify goals, constraints, and missing information before acting. Participants leave with a working personal agent and a foundational understanding of how to direct it well.

Collaborating with Agents - Part 2

Building Agent Skills

Building on Part 1, this session focuses on giving agents the tools and direction they need to execute objectives consistently and well. Participants learn how to turn successful prompts into reusable skills, how to manage agent memory, and how to build and install custom skills that get reliable, high-quality results. Participants leave with a working set of agent skills and the confidence to put them to use.

Collaborating with Agents - Part 3

Designing Agent Workflows

This final session is about getting agents to work together. Building on the skills and workflows from Parts 1 and 2, participants learn how to design multi-agent systems where a manager agent delegates to worker agents, each responsible for executing a specific step toward a final outcome. It is a highly effective approach for tackling complex, high-level tasks while keeping the human in the loop for final review and approval. Participants leave with the confidence to design and direct multi-agent workflows.
